Not a good idea!

Arghh!

Had a great surf yesterday @ Rainbow and whilst showering by board and me (I know, showers are for people, NOT surfboards), I dropped my board on the steel rail and then onto the concrete. Result? A couple of shatters on a rail and a REAL shatter on the tail. Made me MAD and very SAD!

Surfboard or Art?

I was up at Noosa the other day and called in on an old surfing mate from the 60's, Paul Kirk-Lauritsen who is now retired and living at Noosa. Unlike me, he has continued to surf since then and grabs a few waves most days of the week.

As an interest he decided to make himself a wooden board. This is becoming more and more popular these days. His handiwork is terrific and he's now on his sixth board. The first one took him 5 months to make and the latest 5 weeks!

Birth of a Surfing Collective

In 2006, Noosa Longboards opened a shop at the Myer Emporium in Fortitude Valley Brisbane. As part of the store opening, Noosa Longboards offered to run club nights in the Valley store. Thus Brisbane Boardriders was born.
In 2012, the club is still strong. Numbers are smaller but the core members are rusted on. The club now meets every 2nd Tuesday at Melbourne Hotel for a steak, beer and a catch up.
